The service list covers Blue Springs, the Kansas City core and 22 places around them. Each place is listed here with its ZIP code and its straight-line distance from the Blue Springs center, computed from the ZIP-table centroids. The table is a map of the list, not a rate card, and it shows which towns share a run.
Key takeaways
- The list runs to about 31 kilometres from the Blue Springs center, measured on ZIP-table centroids.
- Distances are straight-line and computed, so the road distance is longer than the figure shown.
- Several places share a ZIP code or sit on the same side of the metro, and they are usually planned on one route.
- The call taker confirms the municipality and the ZIP code before a visit is booked.
The nearest places
The nearest places are the city's own neighbors. Grain Valley, Lake Lotawana and Independence are within about ten and a half kilometres of the center, and Oak Grove and the Kansas City core are close behind.
Blue Springs sits at the anchor of the list. Grain Valley, six and a half kilometres to the east, is the nearest neighbor, and Lake Lotawana, about eight kilometres to the south-east, is the next. Independence, to the west, is about ten and a half kilometres away, and Oak Grove, to the east, is about twelve and a half.
A technician working from the city center can usually reach these places on the same morning, though the arrival time is given on the call and is not promised.

The east and the north-east
The eastern and north-eastern places run from Buckner and Bates City out to Napoleon and Wellington, with Liberty and Sibley on the river side. A technician who works the east plans those together.
Buckner is about fourteen kilometres out, Bates City about seventeen and a half and Sibley about eighteen. Levasy is about eighteen and a half and Napoleon about twenty-one, and Wellington, further east, is about twenty-eight.
Liberty, to the north, is about twenty-eight kilometres from the center, and it is served on two ZIP codes. The call taker confirms which applies on every call from that side.
| Place | ZIP code | Distance (km) | Nearby on the list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buckner | 64016 | 14.2 | Sibley, Levasy, Grain Valley, Orrick |
| Bates City | 64011 | 17.4 | Oak Grove, Odessa, Napoleon, Grain Valley |
| Sibley | 64088 | 17.8 | Buckner, Levasy, Orrick, Napoleon |

| Wellington | 64097 | 28.3 | Napoleon, Levasy, Bates City, Orrick |
| Liberty | 64068, 64069 | 28.1 | Sugar Creek, Independence, Buckner, Sibley |
The south and the south-east
The southern and south-eastern places run from Greenwood and Lone Jack out to Pleasant Hill, Strasburg and Kingsville, which are the furthest on the list.
Greenwood is about seventeen kilometres to the south-east, and Lone Jack is about the same distance. Pleasant Hill is about twenty-six, Strasburg about thirty and Kingsville about thirty kilometres out. The far end of the list is in this corner, so the call taker sets the timing expectation at the first call.
Raymore and Grandview lie to the south, with Raymore about twenty-eight kilometres away and Grandview about twenty-five and a half.
| Place | ZIP code | Distance (km) | Nearby on the list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greenwood | 64034 | 17.0 | Lake Lotawana, Pleasant Hill, Lee's Summit, Lone Jack |
| Lone Jack | 64070 | 17.4 | Greenwood, Oak Grove, Lake Lotawana, Kingsville |
| Grandview | 64030 | 25.5 | Raymore, Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Greenwood |
| Pleasant Hill | 64080 | 25.9 | Strasburg, Greenwood, Lone Jack, Kingsville |
| Raymore | 64083 | 28.1 | Grandview, Lee's Summit, Greenwood, Kansas City |

The Kansas City core and the metro side
The two Kansas City, Missouri codes sit about fifteen kilometres from the Blue Springs center, and they are planned with the metro places on the south and west.
The Kansas City core ZIP codes, 64138 and 64139, are on the metro side of Blue Springs. The ZIP-table centroid for the pair is about fifteen kilometres from the center, and a technician working the metro often plans them with Lee's Summit, Grandview and Raymore.
Using the map on the phone: give the call taker the street and the ZIP code. The map tells the household where the visit fits, and the call taker confirms the municipality before a technician is sent.
| Place | ZIP code | Distance (km) | Nearby on the list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kansas City | 64138, 64139 | 15.0 | Lee's Summit, Grandview, Lake Lotawana, Blue Springs |
Reading the table for a second property
A household or landlord with a second property in the metro can use the table to plan both visits on one route. The nearby lists show which places are close enough to share a morning.
Find each property on the tables and check its nearby list. Places that appear in each other's lists are candidates for one route, and the call taker can often book them together. Where the two sit on opposite sides of the list, separate visits are more practical, and the call taker will say so.
A landlord with several properties should give the call taker every address and its ZIP code at the first call. Each property is then kept on its own file, with the owner's details and the tenant's access on it, so one visit is never recorded against the wrong building.
The ZIP codes that serve more than one place
Several ZIP codes on the list are shared between a city and the places next to it, or cover two separate codes within one city. The record needs the code and the street to attach the work to the right property.
Lee's Summit is served on four codes, Independence on three and Blue Springs on three. Liberty and the Kansas City core each use two codes. Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Buckner, Greenwood and several other places are each served on a single code. The call taker confirms the code before the visit, and the technician checks the street on arrival.
Where a code appears in two places, the report names the town as well as the code, so a later reader can tell which property was visited without guessing from the postal address.
What the map does not show
The table is a straight-line picture of the list. It does not show road distance, traffic, the state of a route on a given day or the time a technician needs to reach a particular address.
Two places at similar straight-line distances can differ by a long drive if a river, an interstate or a limited-access road lies between them. The call taker sets the expectation for each call on the basis of the address, not the table alone, and the arrival time is given on the call rather than promised from a figure printed here.
A distance on the table is also a poor guide to the work. A small place at ten kilometres may need a longer visit than a larger place at twenty, because the building, its access and the pest decide the length of a visit more than the mileage does.
Calling from a place on the list
Give the call taker the street, the ZIP code and the town. Those three facts confirm the place, and the call taker can then book the nearest technician who is free.
A caller who is unsure which town they are in can give the street and the code, and the call taker will work out the place. A caller near the boundary of two places should say so, because the record must name the right municipality for any later use, such as a sale or a claim.
Once the place is confirmed, the call taker explains the next step, which may be an immediate advice call for an urgent problem or a booked visit for a routine one. The caller receives the reference and the time window, if one is available at that point.
How the list is maintained
The list is reviewed when a place is added, when a ZIP code changes and when the service area is adjusted. The distances are fixed for the list as published, and they are recomputed from the same centroid method if the list changes.
A place is added to the list only when its ZIP-table centroid is within the service radius from the Blue Springs center, and the radius is set in the site's rules rather than chosen per call. Places beyond that radius are not on the list, whatever their road distance, and the call taker will say so.
When a place is added or removed, the table and its nearby lists are recomputed together, so the two never disagree. A household that sees a place it expected to find, or misses one it thought was covered, can ask the call taker, who will check the list before answering.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the list of places you will visit?
It is the list of places the line serves. Call the line to confirm an address before a visit is booked.
Are the distances driving distances?
No. They are straight-line distances between ZIP-table centroids, computed for this site. The road distance is longer.
Why do some ZIP codes cover two places?
Postal codes are shared between neighboring places. The call taker confirms the town and the street before the visit.
